On Saturday, we had the pleasure of visiting the Clitheroe Food Festival, and what an experience it was! The festival brought together some of the best food artisans from around the region, turning the picturesque town of Clitheroe into a bustling hub of flavours, smells, and community spirit. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this event was more than just a food festival—it was a celebration of local talent, creativity, and the shared love of good food.
Highlights of the Festival
Daddy Cools Chilli Sauce kicked things off with their incredible range of handmade chilli sauces. These aren’t just for the heat seekers—each bottle packs a punch of flavour, perfectly balanced to enhance any dish. We couldn’t resist stocking up on a few bottles to spice up our future meals.
Finch Bakery was another showstopper, their trailer a haven for anyone with a sweet tooth. From brownies to beautifully decorated cakes, their offerings were almost too pretty to eat—but we managed! Each bite was a testament to their craftsmanship, making them a true standout at the festival.
For those who love a bit of savoury indulgence, The Gourmet Scotch Egg Co delivered in spades. They’ve taken the humble scotch egg and turned it into a gourmet experience, offering flavours and textures that left us craving more. It’s safe to say we’ll be dreaming about their creations for weeks to come.
And of course, no food festival in the Ribble Valley would be complete without some local craft beers. Bowland Brewery Bar was on hand to quench our thirst, offering a selection of beers brewed right here in the valley. Their brews were the perfect companion to the rich array of foods on offer, making it clear why they’re a local favourite.
The Great British Cheese Company also made a big impression with their selection of artisan cheeses. From sharp cheddars to creamy blues, their cheeses were a true showcase of British dairy excellence. It was hard to leave without filling our bags with a selection to enjoy later.
